The cats have surgery

Ivy and Darby had to spend the day at the Cat Clinic on Thursday. Darby had his teeth cleaned, and a loose extra tooth pulled (the vet said this is only the second cat she's ever seen with this "bonus" tooth!). Poor Ivy had an enormous fatty tumor (benign lipoma) removed from her hip area. The vet techs were kind enough to show it to me afterwards (I wanted to see it) and it was gigantic - almost filled up a sandwich-sized plastic baggy. She has around 10-12 stitches, and has to wear an Elizabethan collar, which apparently makes her very depressed (see expression below). Her stitches will come out in 2 weeks.
Alexa just pulled up to a full stand today in her pack and play - thanks to Graham for pointing that out to us! Here she is a couple of days ago, halfway up, using the toilet paper package as a prop.
